Mongolia and Kazakhstan Outline New Areas for Economic Cooperation
During a meeting, Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir and Kazakhstan’s First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aizhan Bizhanova discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral ties. The parties identified key areas of cooperation and agreed to intensify joint efforts.
The meeting took place on June 17, according to the Press Office of the Government of Mongolia.
Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir highlighted the significant economic potential between the two countries. He noted that participation in Eurasian economic integration, as well as improvements in transport, logistics and infrastructure connectivity, could play an important role in expanding trade and investment cooperation.
Aizhan Bizhanova reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Mongolia. According to her, priorities include supporting business-to-business cooperation and creating new trade opportunities.
The officials discussed cooperation in mineral processing, agriculture, manufacturing, trade, transport and logistics. Special attention was given to the development of railway connectivity. Both sides agreed that successful implementation of mutually beneficial projects requires the active involvement of both public and private sectors.
Nyamtaishir, who heads the Mongolian side of the Mongolia–Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, also announced that the next session of the commission will be held soon. The meeting is expected to focus on priority areas of bilateral cooperation.
